Craps is far and away the most exciting casino game around. With its fast-paced action and numerous bets, it’s the perfect blend of adventure and risk. The goal of Craps is simple: Bet on the numbers that you think a pair of dice will roll. That’s it!

Upon first glance, the traditional Craps layout can look daunting. But after playing for a little while, we think you’ll agree with us that it just might be a perfectly designed game. The clearest way to think of Craps is as having one main bet and numerous side bets.

New Game: Come-Out Roll

Craps_1.PNG

The start of a new game is called the come-out roll. This is indicated by a black puck labeled OFF.

Main Bet: Pass Line

craps2.png

The main bet is called the Pass Line and runs around the edge of the layout:

During the come-out roll, the Pass Line bet wins if you roll a 7 or 11, and loses if you roll a 2, 3, or 12. Fortunately, there are twice as many ways to win! If any other number is rolled (4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10), then that number becomes the point.

Main Bet: Pass Line Odds

craps3.png

You can complement your Pass Line by making an Odds bet. It wins when your Pass Line bet wins—that is, when the point number rolls before a 7. Importantly, the Odds bet is the best bet in the casino since it has no house advantage!

Once a point is established, a white circle will appear behind your Pass Line bet. This is where you make your Odds bet.

You can wager an amount up to five times your Pass Line bet as Odds. The Odds bet pays according to the point number:

Most Popular Side Bet: Place Bets

Craps4.png

The most popular side bets are called Place bets. A Place bet wins when a number of your choice rolls before a 7, and loses if a 7 rolls first. After a point is established, just put your chips on the numbers of your choice:

A Place bet pays according to the number that it is on:

Winning Bets Stay Up

Craps5.png

Craps is a fast-paced game with numerous bets. Sometimes, you will have a single bet that wins many times. So you probably don’t want to keep dragging the same bet to the layout over and over again. For your convenience, DK Craps has a unique feature called Winning Bets Stay Up. When this setting is toggled on, your winning bets will stay on the layout so you can focus on rolling the dice. Access this feature any time in the Settings menu. You can choose which bets to apply this feature to.

Chip-Removal Button & Help Mode

Craps7.png

If you feel the dice are about to turn cold, you might want to remove your bets from the table. A few bets, like the Pass Line, are contract bets that cannot be removed until they are resolved. But for most bets, use the Chip-removal button in the bottom-right corner to remove them.

Click on the question mark in the upper-left corner at any time to access Help Mode. This allows you to click on any betting spot and learn how that bet wins and loses.

ADVANCED CRAPS

DK_Craps_240x200.png

Now that you know the basics of Craps at DraftKings Online Casino, keep in mind that you can use the Demo Mode to test your new found knowledge in playing one of the most exciting casino games there is. If what you just read seems simple enough that you want to learn more or you are more curious about the rest of the table, the following focuses on more advanced bets that whet your appetite for the game.

Play Online Craps now to put your learnings to the test, or continue on to read about The Field, Prop Bets, and other more Advanced Bets that go beyond the basics of Craps.

Now that you’ve made it through the basics of Craps, we can move on to some of the most action packed and highest paying bets in Craps, starting with prop bets.

Prop Bets

The Any Seven: Any Seven wins if the next roll is a 7, paying 4 to 1.

Any Craps: This prop bet wins if the next roll is a 2, 3, or 12. It pays 7 to 1.

The Horn: Similar to individual bets on the 2, 3, 11, or 12, the Horn places bets on all four numbers at once. It wins if the dice total any of these numbers on the next roll.

The Hardways: The Hardways win if either the 4, 6, 8, or 10 rolls “hard,” meaning the same number shows on each die. For example, a Hard 6 rolls when the dice land 3-3. In contrast, an Easy 6 rolls when the dice land 1-5 or 2-4. The Hardways lose when the Easy number or a 7 rolls before the Hard number. You can bet on any of the four Hardways, or on all four at once by betting in the All Hardways spot. They pay based on which number you bet on:

Come Bets & Odds

Come_Bets_&_Odds.png

A Come bet is essentially a Pass Line bet made after the come-out roll. Once a point is established and the puck flips to ON, then you may make a Come bet. It wins on 7 or 11, and loses on 2, 3, or 12. If any other number rolls (4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10), then your Come bet moves to that number. The Come bet now wins if you repeat that number before rolling a 7. If a 7 rolls before, then the Come bet loses. You may make multiple Come bets covering different numbers. Winning Come bets pay 1 to 1.

Once your Come bet moves to a number, you can complement it by making an Odds bet. Your Odds bet wins when your Come bet wins—that is, it wins when the number that your Come bet is on rolls before a 7. Importantly, the Odds bet has no house advantage! You can wager an amount up to five times your Come bet as Odds. The Odds bet pays according to the number that it is on:

Buy Bets

Similar to Place Bets, Buy Bets win when your chosen number rolls before a 7, and lose if the 7 rolls first. They pay at the true odds of rolling before a 7, except that you pay a 5% commission on the amount bet.

Don't Pass

Dont_Pass_Craps1.png

Generally speaking, the Don’t Pass is the opposite of the Pass Line, and is likewise made during the come-out roll. It wins if you roll a 2 or 3, pushes on a 12, and loses on a 7 or 11. If any other number is rolled (4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10), then that number becomes the point. Once a point is established, then the Don’t Pass wins if you roll a 7 before rolling the point number again. In contrast, the Don’t Pass loses if you roll the point number again before rolling a 7. Winning Don’t Pass bets pay 1 to 1.

After a point is established, you can complement your Don’t Pass bet by making an Odds wager. Your Odds bet wins when your Don’t Pass bet wins—that is, it wins when a 7 rolls before the point number. Importantly, the Odds bet has no house advantage! You can wager an amount up to six times your Don’t Pass bet as Odds. The Odds bet pays according to the point number:

Don't Come

Don_t_Come1.png

A Don’t Come bet is essentially a Don’t Pass bet made after the come-out roll. Once a point is established and the puck flips to ON, then you may make a Don’t Come bet. It wins on 2 or 3, pushes on 12, and loses on 7 or 11. If any other number rolls (4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10), then your Don’t Come bet moves to that number. The Don’t Come bet now wins if you roll a 7 before rolling the number with the Don’t Come bet. If the number with the Don’t Come bet rolls before a 7, then that Don’t Come bet loses. You may make multiple Don’t Come bets covering different numbers. Winning Don’t Come bets pay 1 to 1.

Once your Don’t Come bet moves to a number, you can complement it by making an Odds bet. Your Odds bet wins when your Don’t Come bet wins—that is, it wins when a 7 rolls before the number that your Don’t Come bet is on. Importantly, the Odds bet has no house advantage! You can wager an amount up to six times your Don’t Come bet as Odds. The Odds bet pays according to the number that it is on:

Big 6 & 8**

Big_6_and_8.png

The Big 6 wins if a 6 rolls before a 7, and the Big 8 wins if an 8 rolls before a 7. They lose if the It pays 1 to 1.

Other Bets

HTP_Craps_-_2_3_11_12_Bet.png

2, 3, 11, or 12*: These bets win if the next roll is your chosen number. They pay based on which number you bet on:

C & E: The C & E stands for “Craps and Eleven,” and makes a bet on Any Craps and the 11.

World: The World bet makes bets on the 2, 3, Any Seven, 11, and 12 all at once. It is accessible from the Advanced menu, where you can use a slider to select the amount of the bet.

Inside, Outside, and Across

Inside_Outside_Across_Craps.png

Place and Buy bets are often made in groups rather than one at a time. Our exclusive Advanced menu allows you to do just this! Betting Inside puts Place bets on the 5, 6, 8, and 9. Betting Outside puts Buy bets on the 4 and 10, and Place bets on the 5 and 9. And betting Across puts Buy bets on the 4 and 10, and Place bets on the 5, 6, 8, and 9. If a point is established, then it will be omitted from new Inside, Outside, and Across bets.

How Bets Should Work

How_Bets_Should_Work_-_Craps.png

This exclusive feature allows you to designate when certain bets will “work” or be “off.” A bet that works can win or lose, while a bet that is off cannot. You can toggle bets to be always off, always on, only off during the come-out roll, or only on during the come-out roll. You can apply these options to Come Odds, Don’t Come Odds, Place/Buy bets, Don’t Place/Lay bets, and Hardways. The How Bets Should Work menu is accessible from the Options menu.
